Baby, It’s Cold Outside!!

Posted by admin on Jan 13, 2013 in Uncategorized

Winter is in full force here in Central Oregon, and your plumbing is at risk.  If your pipes freeze and break, the repairs can be very costly.  There are some things that you can do, though, to help protect your home before any damage happens.  First, make sure that your home’s exterior foundation vent covers are on.  This will hold in the heat and help protect the pipes under your home.  Second, remove all hoses from your hose bibs.  This will help keep your hose bibs from freezing and breaking.  Finally, and most importantly, never turn the heat off to your home.  If the pipes in your walls freeze in addition to the pipes under your home, your home could flood when the pipes thaw out which will be expensive and messy.  So take some precautions this winter, because baby, it’s cold outside!
